This Privacy Policy explains how Caffio, developed by
Moccoa Works, handles your information.
Data Collected
- Photos of coffee packages
- Text you enter, such as bean notes, brewing notes, reviews, and taste preferences
- Text recognized using OCR
- Location data, when you use the Map to find nearby cafes and reviews
- Your name and email, only if you choose to sign in with Apple
- Purchase and subscription information from Apple's StoreKit
Storage & Third-Party Services
- Most of your notes are stored locally on your device.
- When iCloud Sync is enabled with a Plus or Pro subscription, your notes are stored in your personal iCloud account.
- Cafe/bar reviews, taste preferences, and other community features are stored using Supabase, a third-party backend service we use to power these features. An earlier version of this policy stated that no third-party servers were used; that is no longer accurate now that these features exist.
- When the app is opened, an anonymous account is automatically created with Supabase so these features can work, even if you never sign in.
Community Features
- Reviews you post — including rating, taste notes, and the cafe's name and location — are always visible to other Caffio users. Review content itself cannot be made private.
- Your account starts with a randomly generated display name. In Settings, you can control whether your display name is shown alongside your reviews (Public, Friends only, or Hidden).
- Adding a friend (via an in-person QR code) lets that friend see your taste preferences.
- If you set your taste preferences to "Public", other signed-in Caffio users can view them as part of the preference discovery feature.
- You can report or block other users' reviews. Reports and blocks are stored on our servers to help keep the community safe.
- You can submit new cafes or beans for us to review before they are added to the shared database.
Location Data
- When you use the Map to see reviews near you, your current location or the map's viewing area is sent to our server to retrieve nearby cafe reviews.
- The list of specialty coffee shops shown on the Map is preloaded by us and does not require sending your location anywhere.
Sign in with Apple
If you choose to sign in with Apple, we request your name and email through Apple's standard sign-in flow, used only to authenticate your account. We do not store your name or email in our own app data.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers. Reviews and other content you choose to post are, by design, visible to other users of the app, as described above.
Subscriptions
Subscriptions are processed securely through Apple's StoreKit and are subject to Apple's privacy practices. Purchase identifiers are linked to your account to verify your subscription status.
Your Rights
- Deleting the app removes all locally stored data from your device.
- iCloud data can be removed from iOS Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Storage.
- To request deletion of data stored on our servers — including reviews, preferences, and friend connections — contact us below.

保存場所・第三者サービスについて
- ほとんどの記録は端末内に保存されます。
- Plus / Pro プランで iCloud同期を有効にした場合、ユーザー自身の iCloud アカウントへ保存されます。
- カフェ/バーのレビュー、味覚の好み、その他のコミュニティ機能は、これらを実現するために利用している第三者のバックエンドサービス「Supabase」に保存されます。以前の本ポリシーには「第三者サーバーには保存しない」と記載していましたが、これらの機能の追加に伴い、現在はその記載は正しくありません。
- アプリを起動すると、サインインの有無にかかわらず、これらの機能のために匿名アカウントが自動的に Supabase 上に作成されます。
コミュニティ機能について
- 投稿したレビュー（評価・味覚メモ・カフェ名・所在地を含む）は、常に他の Caffio ユーザーに公開されます。レビュー内容自体を非公開にすることはできません。
- アカウントには、ランダムに生成された表示名が最初から設定されます。設定画面から、レビューに表示名を表示するかどうか（公開／フレンドのみ／非表示）を選択できます。
- 対面での QR コードによりフレンドを追加すると、そのフレンドはあなたの味覚の好みを閲覧できるようになります。
- 味覚の好みを「公開」に設定すると、サインイン済みの他の Caffio ユーザーが「好みの発見」機能を通じてそれを閲覧できるようになります。
- 他のユーザーのレビューを通報・ブロックできます。通報内容やブロック関係は、コミュニティの安全のためサーバーに保存されます。
- 新しいカフェや豆の情報を、共有データベースに追加される前の確認用として送信できます。
位置情報について
- Map で近くのレビューを表示する際、現在地または地図の表示中心の位置情報がサーバーへ送信され、近くのレビューの取得に利用されます。
- Map に表示される specialty coffee 店舗の一覧は、あらかじめ登録された情報であり、これを表示するためにユーザーの位置情報が送信されることはありません。
Sign in with Apple について
Sign in with Apple を利用する場合、Apple の標準的なサインインの仕組みを通じて氏名・メールアドレスの提供を求めることがありますが、これは本人確認のためにのみ利用され、アプリ側のデータとして氏名・メールアドレスを保存することはありません。
データ共有
データを販売したり、広告目的で第三者に提供したりすることはありません。ただし、上記の通り、ユーザー自身が投稿したレビューなどのコンテンツは、仕組み上、他のアプリユーザーに公開されます。
サブスクリプション
サブスクリプションの決済は Apple StoreKit を利用し、
Apple のプライバシーポリシーに従います。購入情報はサブスクリプション状況の確認のためアカウントに紐付けられます。
ユーザーの権利
- アプリを削除すると端末内データは削除されます。
- iCloud同期データは iOS の「設定」→「Apple ID」→「iCloud」→「ストレージを管理」から削除できます。
- レビュー・味覚の好み・フレンド関係など、サーバーに保存されたデータの削除をご希望の場合は、下記までお問い合わせください。
